The 2015 Tri-State Sculpture Conference will be held on Thursday, October 1 through Sunday October 4 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is renowned for its natural beauty, culture and history. UNC-Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College will be co-sponsoring the conference. The Key Note speaker will be Judy Pfaff, an American installation artist originally from England. Her installation art has been compared to that of “a collagist in space.” Roberta Smith, critic for The New York Times, wrote of Pfaff’s work, “she has been creating elaborately impure, implicitly narrative environments for more than 25 years.
There will be a member exhibition held in CFCC’s Wilma W. Daniels Gallery during the month of October. In addition, the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County, in association with Tri-State Sculptors, invites Tri-State Sculptors’ members to submit proposals for its Pedestrian Art public sculpture program. This call is only open to Tri-State Sculptors’ members. The outdoor sculptures will represent a wide range of artistic styles, themes and media.
