| Title: First Impression Description: Description: We are so much more than meets the eye, so why are we so quick to judge another. If only we could wait until we know a person before we passed judgement and closed up our mind. Then and only then would know what we don't know, and perhaps see more, learn more and as a result be more. Dimensions: 6'x12"x18" Medium: Aluminum Date Created: 206 Location: Bluffton, SC |

After approval it is scaled up with no surprises, and the public scale sculpture meets everyone exspections, and hopefully even exceeds them! Dimensions: 7"x7" x 18" Medium: Stainless Date Created: 2010 Location: California |
| Title: Red Hot Twittering Machine Description: Its not a circle or a square, it is somewhere inbetween. It is what it is, but thats not all it is. Everyone of us can see something that others can't. It may not be your cup of tea but let it be what it will be. The important thing is that it sells and travels around the world. | Title: Abstract Bicycle Art Description: Bicycles have stayed pretty much the same for the nearly 100 years now, however the time has come to give our environment a break. If we knew 100 years ago, what dependance on oil would lead to, we would not let our beautiful planet suffer the automobile age. Let us face facts, and count the costs, and do something constructive. Bicycles benefit us by providing exercise, time to reflect and meditate, and save money. So lets bring bike design into the 21st century and make the bicycle cool, fast, and better than ever. Dimensions: 21" x 33" x 48" Medium: Aluminum with Copper Vien Powder Coat Date Created: 2010 Location: SC |
| Title: Blue Fish Description: I started making fish shortly after the Horizon accident. In the weeks since the oil spill began information has come to light about the oil industry, that has caused many people to change their driving habits and their carbon footprints. We have also started asking serious questions about our way of life and our planet. Has the demand for Oil become so great that we are willing to risk our environment to have more? What of the other 4800 deep water oil wells, are they accidents waiting to happen? I hope not! I want Blue Fish, and every other color fish to win. Further more I want this earth to be covered with Blue sky, green trees, and clean waters. This fish is another symbol of support for a greener planet. | Title: Reflections of Character Description: This Vertically Oriented Sculpture reflects the Character that a mentor builds in his student. Why not look into a mirror and see, the person you could be, rather than a view of what will soon be, just a moment in your history. Most people live, day to day, and if they become something, they attributed it to being in the right place at the right time, or one in a million. That is not the way for you or me, we know in our hearts that something better will be, if we do not sit on our laurels and wait to be. Our odds of winning are much greater indeed, than one in a million souls that proceed. Because we push forward the boundaries, that hold others back, we take leaps of faith and never shrink back. We study, and work, and create prolifically, and plan ahead our days indefinitely, and many a sleepless nights we spend in our bed, thinking and figuring how to do, what others only dread. Each day we wake, glad to be alive, we say to ourselves with one degree of pride: What do I get,-- to do,-- today! Knowing there is much to be done, loving your work makes it almost fun, but as the sunsets you may look back and sigh! But, then a smiles arises, with a knowing, Iiiiiii! Because, you understand, the things yet undone are minor in comparison to all you have won! This day is accomplished and tomorrow holds hope, soon you will sleep, but, the smile will stay, because you have done well, -- done well -- with this beautiful day! | Title: Pet Peeve Description: Pet Peeve is a symbolic abstract sculpture depicting the struggle between, what we were and what we will be. How can we break the chain that is holding us to our past and become what we know we will. For the artist, the past is littered with criticism and unappreciated works, however the future can be a paradise of gratifying accomplishment and personal satisfaction. We must choose now in the present, this is done by taking steps into a primitive uncharted future, see what you want in your minds eye, hold that vision in sharp focus, and ask how, how you can step toward it. Everything else we walk toward or spend time doing robs us of potential and gets swallowed up by a deteriorating past. Don’t let your days get cast into the symbolic sea of; if only, should oves, could oves, someday, and when I get this or that I’ll do so and so. The desire to succeed means nothing without the will to prepare! With this in mind, everything is possible. | Title: All You Need is LOVE Description: Sculpture can arrest movement, capture feelings, and even make a political statement. It can warm your heart or give you a chill. This sculpture is embracing a decade. In the sixties, it was a time of growing awareness of self and a time of questioning beliefs, purpose, and goals. A time of hope for a better world, for many it started with the Beatles and ended with Woodstock. | Title: The Well of Creativity Description: The Song of the wind, the birth of a child, the flight of the hawk, and the marshland by the sea, inspire me. The thoughts are created, and the hands follow thru, then the eye of the beholder makes it come true. University of Phoenix writes; Hi Stephen, my name is Brandi Garcia. I am working on a team project for a college course. We had to pick a sculpture for a company to buy. One that is a modern and represents diversity in the workplace. Can you give me a little more insight on “The Well of Creativity?” This is the piece we have chosen and would help me give a little more to our paper. Thank you, Brandi Garcia. reply from sk; Dear Brandi, Thanks for choosing one of my sculptures. Sometimes I think creativity is like a well that you prime. I love diversity, and I find myself working on three or four different sculpture every week. One as large as the Well of Creativity took me about 6 or 7 weeks however I frequently turned my attention to another work in progress, for a change of pace and to allow my ideas for the Well to formulate. The nice thing about welded sculpture is you can add and subtract as needed. It is painted with Rainbow extreme paint and it changes to seven colors as you walk around it. | Title: Galvanized Description: This sculpture could have been named Horse Power because the components were disgarded automotive parts found at a metal scrap yard. However it is not simply found art, it is more like recycled art, by reusing existing materials, I haved saved energy and created beauty. This sculpture has been updated with a copper powder coat. The powder coat finish is a much more friendly to the environment, while not totally green, it does not require solvents to cure, it goes on as dust and melts to and bonds to the sculpture in my oven at 450 degrees. When I am most successful my sculptures have the look and feel of floating forms, virtual weightlessness. Perhaps this is why I gravitate to aluminum as my preferred material, and why from childhood on, I have been especially fond of the works of Miro and Calder. I want my creations to be unique original artistic expressions that are both easy to live with as well as environmentally friendly to ...... more |
