Members Pop-Up Exhibition 2024 - Call for Entries!

Members Exhibition Submission

This year our Members Exhibition will be a short term Pop Up, limited to the duration of the conference. October 17th to the 20th. While this is not a juried show, we do want to have an idea of what you plan to bring, and will possibly need to make a judgement if something seems too large or difficult to install so that we can have a quick and smooth drop off process.

Work needs to be easily hung or placed on a pedestal or the floor.

You may submit up to three artworks, but depending on the number of entries we receive and the scale of the work, you may only be invited to bring one.

Works will need to be dropped off Thursday evening October 17th between 5:00pm-8:00pm or Friday between 9:00am-12:00pm at the latest. Work can be picked up Sunday morning, or by special arrangement Saturday after 5:00pm.

ANNOUNCING OUR 2024 KEYNOTE ARTIST: GRACELEE LAWRENCE

Gracelee’s work deals with relationships between food, the body, and technology. It is born in the transfigurative space between physical and digital reality, exploring the ways in which bodies are both gendered and metaphorically fragmented in terms of capitalist-driven material desires, physical sustenance, and the digital spaces we inhabit.

Gracelee (they/she) has attended twenty residencies in the US and abroad and opened her second solo show in New York at Postmasters in June 2022 with a glowing review by Roberta Smith in the New York Times. They are currently the Head of Sculpture Area at the University at Albany, SUNY.

Recent exhibitions include Peter Gaugy (Vienna, Austria), PRIOR Art Space (Barcelona, Spain), Patrick Mikhail (Montreal, CA), Kavi Gupta (Chicago, IL), CHART  (New York, NY), and more. They have installed large-scale outdoor sculptures at the Upstate Immersive (Poughkeepsie, NY), Wave Hill (Bronx, NY), Museum of Museums (Seattle, WA), Franconia Sculpture Park (Shafer, MN), Mary Sky (Hancock, VT), and others.

In 2017 they returned from 15 months as a Visiting Professor in the Multidisciplinary Department of Art at Chiang Mai University and assistant to artist Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook on a Luce Scholars Fellowship. They are a member of the collective MATERIAL GIRLS, a recipient of the 2024 Dr. Dr. Nuala McGann Drescher Leave, a 2021-22 Individual Artist DEC Grant, a 2019 Jerome Fellow at Franconia Sculpture Park, a 2016-17 Luce Scholars Fellow, and a recipient of the 2015 UMLAUF Prize. Press for their work includes The New York Times, The New Yorker, ArtNet, Hyperallergic, Artspace, The Creative Independent, and MAAKE Magazine, among others. They are an enthusiastic dancer, a lifelong horse person, and a passionate gardener.
